Hauptziele der Institution:
Since the completion of the permanent exhibition in the Information Centre and the opening of the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Mai 2005 the daily agenda of the Foundation has changed. A significant number of inquiries from the memorial´s visitors reach the executive office every day. These enquiries have to be answered in the most accurate and sensitive manner. The stuff cares for the maintenance, updating and the expansion of the contents within the permanent exhibition (Room of Names, Room of Sites and the Portal on the Sites of Memory in Europe) and carries out new projects in accordance with the Foundation´s charter.
Hauptfachgebiet(e) der Institution (z.Bsp.: Migranten, Arbeitswelt, lokale Tradition,etc.) :
Since building works have been completed, the foundation under public law is responsible for running the Memorial. The Foundation's Charter also commits it to endeavouring to »ensure that all victims of National Socialism are remembered and honoured appropriately«.
The third room in the permanent exhibition is dedicated to individual life histories of victims of the Holocaust from all over Europe. In contrast with the other rooms, no pictorial material whatsoever is included here. The short biography is presented over loudspeakers, while the persons name and biographical data are simultaneously projected on all four walls.
The fourth room in the exhibition in the Information Centre focuses on the European dimension of Nazi terror against Jews, Roma, POWs and non-Jewish civilians. At the present time, 120 sites of persecution and annihilation – camps, ghettos, shooting sites or points of departure for deportation – are shown in silent sequences of images. An expansion is planned.

Video Archive at the Information Centre:
In the form of an »open archive«, the interviews in their full length will also be made available, ready to view and hear in the original language, to researchers, students, school classes and interested visitors. They can be examined in the original language as well as German and English, and can be located by means of a key word catalogue.
These interviews have been collected since the 1970s by the »Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies« of Yale University.
Exibitions f.e.:
»What was deemed fully legal at the time ... – Soldiers and civilians tried before the courts of the military«
»FIRE!« Anti-Jewish Terror on Kristallnacht in November 1938
