Българите в гр. Болград са дошли от Сливенско, Ямболско и Сопотско. На 40 км се намира Шоп-Тараклия – малък град на бесарабски българи, но вече на територията на Молдова. Основават го преселници от Софийска област. Когато отивам на гости на свои колеги там, сякаш си отивам у дома.
