Fites i Objectius
- To contribute, by means of autobiographical and historical methodologies, to the development of social and civic competences of European citizens.
- To contribute to preserving memory, and encouraging familiarity with the many cultures and traditions that make up Europe.
- Permitting total involvement of adult learners, the active involvement of older people and the encounter of young and old; allowing the diffusion of cultural issues from the bottom up through life stories and web technologies.
- To develop individual potential in lifelong learning by promoting the culture of memory and autobiography as “care of oneself”.
- To contribute to the realization of innovative models in adult education activities using the methodologies mentioned.
Through
- The creation of permanent tools and in particular the portal European Memories, with a digital archive of stories of European citizens, in different digital languages (text, photo, audio and video format), and in the main European languages.
- The creation of adult education activities through the telling of life stories, for the promotion of social and civic competences.
- The creation of products and activities for the diffusion of the stories of European citizens such as the European Autobiography Festival and the final project publication.
Products of the project
- A European digital archive of the memories of European citizens in different languages
- The II European Autobiography and Life Stories Award “Telling Europe”, divided into three sections:
- “Cultures of Europe ”
- “Europe in my Heart” , telling stories of belonging to Europe
- “Stories of Social Change and Commitment” , experiences of groups of European citizens acting within civil society; with the aim of stimulating the active participation of citizens
- An European Autobiography Festival
- An Experimental Social Network of “Storytelling Groups” –groups of volunteers in the different countries who collect, read and organize events for the diffusion of the stories
