To build bridges instead of walls

To build bridges instead of walls
Author: Emilia Koseva <e_koseva@abv.bg>

Relationships between the people are strange. They can be lovely and noble, but can be hard even impossible. Philosophers have been thinking for many hours on the topic “How the Earth can be a better place to live”. It is a fact that the humanity is ashamed from many events in which aggression and hostility have taken place. But today we are bravely trying to make the first steps to our dream – for one big home without fence, in which happy, hardworking and friendly people live. We believe that we can bring down the walls between us and on their place we will build bridges. That is the hope of us the European people. No matter how big are our differences, let’s accept them in order to live together.

European Journey

Impressions

Author: Teodora Koleva <tedi0186@abv.bg>

This is a story about a Bulgarian traveling in Europe. Each and every one of us has an unique atmosphere and perceives the world in a unique way. This is not just Europe, but all the places, people and traditions view through the eyes of a Bulgarian.

The narration is made by quotings of famous bulgarian authors.

When a bulgarian sees a raven it is much more likely that he thinks about the poem of Botev "The Hanging of Vasil Levki", than of the raven Nevermore by Edgar Allan Poe.

It would be nice that bulgarians read once again some eternal quotings and maybe it would be interesting for the foreigners to learn more about bulgarian literature ... and bulgarian way of thinking.

This is Europe...but not only!

GLOBALL FORTRESS

Author: Emeline Andre <emeline.andre@laposte.net> ,  Catarina Leal <catarinafleal@gmail.com> ,  Lucia vila sanchez <lucia.vilasanchez@gmail.com> ,  Feelengue Daniel <feelingue.feeling@gmail.com>

This video is the result of different initiatives and was produced by both EVS volunteers and asylum seekers living in Slovenia.
The protagonists of this story are the people who enjoyed a day together : the 17th of October 2009.
The story regards the event “Globall Football Tournament: We all live and play in the same world!” on the 17th of October in Ljubljana.
The event consisted of a football tournament between 10 different teams, followed by a dinner and party together. These event was organised by EVS that are working with Slovenska Filantropija (in its Center Phycho-social Assistance to Refugees)
The aim was to bring people from different cultures, different situations and different ways of life together through a common similarity: living in Ljubljana.
Another aim was for everyone to enjoy the differences between themselves and to hear their opinions about the problems that asylum seekers suffer at the moment while waiting for decisions in Slovenia, as a number of people who took part were seeking asylum in Slovenia at the time .
